Anthony: A little bit. I mean that restaurant didn't have the greatest of reviews, but I'm out of the door.

Hey, you started scratching your head, little boy.

Kai (the baby): [coos or makes a noise]

Shayla: That's mom.
Hey mom.

Mom: Hi.
Hi guys. Wow.
You're looking pretty vibrant.

Anthony: Here you go.
Oh, I'm sorry baby.
Hi.
Mom, I ordered you some food.

Shayla: Hi aunt, how are you?

Aunt: Good, how are you?
Baby… yeah, he's getting big.

Anthony: Yeah, your food's right there.

                                                     

Matter of fact, let me get you a fork and I'm going to get him changed.

Mom: Yes, please.
Because you're dropping bombs all the time.

Anthony: Don't slap yourself in the head, son.
How are you doing today, mom?

Mom: Better than yesterday.

Anthony: I understand.
Here you go.
This is for you.
Let me go handle this and I'll be right back.
Come on boy.

Aunt: Everything going alright?

Mom: It is.
It's good to be able to share some vittles with you too.

Aunt: Vittles.
I know you're in the middle of something.

Mom: Oh no, what's going on?

Aunt: So, let me just say this.
I know that you are aware of what's happened with Brody and I.

Mom: I'm sorry about that.

                                                            

Aunt: There's really nothing to be sorry about.
Twenty-plus years, things happen in relationships, you know.

Mom: It didn't take that long.

Aunt: However, I just wanted to share something with you.
Just a little word of advice for you.
Especially as we're moving along as a family.

You know, Brody could have elected to just communicate, right? Say, “Hey, I don't feel like you're giving me enough attention.”
But I don't think it was just that.
He's not approving of this situation as a whole.

But I choose to stand by my daughter because I believe in her, I believe in you, and I'm always going to be here for my grandson.

The problem that I have with Brody is he could have just said something.
Communication is everything, Anthony.
No one can read anyone's mind, right?
And so, I think in that situation, what really has kind of angered me is the fact that he couldn't open his mouth.

This man has been running his mouth for years.
But all of a sudden, he just runs out on his family.
Women are runners.
We don't like something — rowdy.
Men are not designed to be runners.
Men are supposed to stay planted, firm with their family.
But that was not his decision.

So, I say that to say this to you:
If you ever have any issues — and you know how relationships can get — please talk to Shayla.
Please just be honest with her about where you are emotionally.

And whatever you do, do not be a coward like Brody.

                                                            

Anthony: Okay.
I appreciate your transparency.
Yeah.
I promise I'll always be here for Shayla and Kai.

Aunt: I appreciate that.
Because family is all you have.
It's always family first.
No matter what.

Mom: Yeah.
I'm going to eat up because it's going to get cold.

Anthony: Yeah.
I might have lost my appetite.
