Sheila: Thank you so much for keeping him. How was he today?

Mom: Wonderful as usual, but let me tell you something, that boy is going to be crawling in no time. Now look at him walking right now. I can't even leave him alone at all, period. Those days are over. When he starts crawling, trust me.

Sheila: Mom, you're drinking already? It's early.

Mom: It's five o'clock somewhere, honey.

Sheila: It's not like you to drink this time.

Mom: Why, because I'm having a drink?

Sheila: No, not because you're having a drink. I'm just doing a check on you, make sure that you're good. I know you've been going through a lot of things and even though you wear it well with a smile on your face, you're at home with your family so we can be transparent with each other.
You good?

Mom: I'm good, Sheila.

Sheila: Okay, thank you and thank you for asking.

Mom: Of course.

Sheila: I know that comes from a place of love.

Mom: Yes, and we care about you.

Sheila: So let me ask you a question, just out of curiosity.

Mom: Not that I get my drink, but go ahead.

Sheila: Right, let's put this away for a minute. So, you always teach me to fight for my relationship, to not give up, to weather the storms, all of the above.
So why is it that you're not fighting for your marriage at this time? Just one incident and you out or?

Mom: You know, the beautiful thing about this is this is a great teaching moment. I'm glad that you asked that because your father and I have been together for 24 years. So much has happened that you're not even aware of because children stay in children's place and parents handle parent issues.
You understand what I'm saying, right?

Sheila: Right.

Mom: There’s been many things that have happened over the course of our relationship but one of the things that I think is super important here is that as ladies, we never get so comfortable at a man's beck and call that when they decide to go out and share their body with someone else that we just,
“Oh, I'm sorry. Okay, you're right. I'll just take you back because I'm so in love.”
Like, that’s just... other people can do that but I would strongly advise against it.
For Angelina and the way I am as a woman, I'm not having it.

Sheila: Yeah.

Mom: If your father wanted to tell me he's out doing this and that in business and I'm closing these deals and I'm doing that and staying ashamed of his business, he has not been supporting you the way you need to be supported.

Sheila: I know Mom, but just given all the advice that you gave me, all the counsel that you gave me consistently, it kind of just seems like you have different standards for yourself — which I agree with.
I don't think anything is wrong with it, but you always teach me to fight for Anthony.

Mom: Let me ask you something.
Anthony's in the bed with another woman because he feels you were giving Kai too much of your time during a time in which he was having a very tumultuous issue in his life.

Sheila: What? Mom.

Mom: What do you do? Come on. What do you do? Do you turn your back on Kai?

Sheila: No, I never would.

Mom: Do you say, oh if you were in Amber's shoes?

Sheila: Yes, but Mom, I'm an adult at this point so I definitely appreciate you being there for me and in my life, but I don't want what I have going on to affect your relationship.

Mom: But it's not.
Girls, come, come, come, come, come. Let me tell you something. You two are my lovely beautiful adult daughters, right? And I'm never going to teach either one of you to lay down your self-respect because a man decides he wants to get naked with another woman and blame you for whatever that issue was.
And that's it. Period.com. But you'll make your own choices.
Now, on to my wine because it's been a long day already.

Sheila: All right. I can't argue with that. Me and Kai are gonna go.
Come on, baby.
