SHAYLA
Okay, wow.

SHAYLA
Hey, family.

ANTHONY
That's how you gonna greet your daddy? You gonna throw keys at me?

ANTHONY
How’s he been?

SHAYLA
He’s been good.

ANTHONY
Good, good. High five. Give me a high five.

SHAYLA (serious)
Why did you send Amber flowers?

ANTHONY (caught off guard)
Who told you that?

SHAYLA
Doesn’t matter who told me. Anthony, why did you send Amber flowers?

ANTHONY
Look, I sent her the flowers. We already talked about this.

SHAYLA
We did, but I feel like you are playing games, Anthony.

ANTHONY
How am I playing games?

SHAYLA
There’s a difference between easing out of a situation and doing the most. You can make peace with Amber without buying her flowers. You haven’t even bought me flowers before.

ANTHONY
Is that what it is? Is it because I bought her flowers?

SHAYLA
No. It’s because I don’t really know what your angle is.

ANTHONY
My angle is to protect my money.

SHAYLA
So sending Amber flowers is protecting your money?

ANTHONY
They’re just flowers.

SHAYLA
If they’re just flowers, then why have you never sent me any? I’m supposed to be the one you really want to be with. The one you met first.

ANTHONY
You want flowers?

SHAYLA
Do you want your family?

ANTHONY
Are you serious?

SHAYLA
Are you serious?

ANTHONY
Look, I told you—I have to play nice with Amber.

SHAYLA
Okay, playing nice is being pleasant. You buying her what? Flowers? For what?

SHAYLA
See, that’s the thing. That’s romantic.

ANTHONY
You said you were on board.

SHAYLA
Romantic or somebody die. Which one?

ANTHONY
I think you’re blowing this out of proportion.

SHAYLA
Really?

ANTHONY
Yes.

SHAYLA
I’m blowing this out of proportion? You’re sending your wife flowers. That’s supposed to be your ex-wife.

ANTHONY
Why is everybody so caught up on these flowers? They’re just flowers, okay?

ANTHONY
I’m trying to protect my money. If I have to give her flowers so she won’t take me to the cleaners in this divorce, I’m going to send her flowers.

ANTHONY
I’d rather spend $150 on flowers than lose what?

SHAYLA
Is that how much they cost? $150?

ANTHONY
Oh my God. I was just throwing the number out there.

SHAYLA
I don’t understand why you’re so mad.

SHAYLA
Anthony, I just don’t understand why you’re making romantic gestures toward Amber and you’re supposed to be getting divorced.

ANTHONY
You’re looking at it as a romantic gesture. I’m looking at it as an investment.

SHAYLA
Okay, and how do you think Amber is looking at it?

ANTHONY
I don’t know.

SHAYLA
You don’t know? Do you think I’m dumb?

ANTHONY
No.

SHAYLA
It sounds like you do.

ANTHONY
I thought you said you were on board with this.

SHAYLA
I’m trying to be, but I feel like you’re playing me.

ANTHONY
Okay, but you have to get your emotions out of this.

SHAYLA
How can I not be emotional about my man sending another woman flowers that he used to be with?

ANTHONY
You can get your emotions out of it knowing the endgame, alright?

ANTHONY
I have to do what I have to do in order to protect my money and our future. Trust me.

ANTHONY
I know you’re upset now, but I promise it’ll pay off in the long run.

ANTHONY
Alright?

ANTHONY
Can we just play with our son?

SHAYLA
Can we just play with our son? Were you thinking about playing with our son while you were sending Amber flowers?

ANTHONY
Anyway, I’ll play with my son.

ANTHONY
Hey, man.
Hey, buddy.

SHAYLA
Ask your daddy what’s wrong with him.

ANTHONY
Ask your mommy to stop tripping.
