Chase warned Anthony to get the final DNA test and remove Shayla from your life.😱

"One Last Test"

The rain hit the windows in slow, heavy drops, casting shadows across the dark wood floors of Anthony's apartment. The whiskey glass in his hand trembled slightly, half full, untouched. He’d been staring at the same spot on the wall for over an hour, the paternity results still folded on the table in front of him.

It had been weeks since the first DNA test came in — the one Brittany had secretly triggered — and it showed what he feared:

Kai wasn’t his son.

But Shayla, ever cunning, had denied the legitimacy of the results. She claimed the lab was sketchy, the paperwork incomplete, the sample swapped. She said someone was trying to "frame" her. And somehow, some part of Anthony — exhausted, broken, confused — had almost started to believe her again.

Until Chase showed up.

The Arrival of Truth

The door burst open, and in came Chase — Anthony’s childhood friend, practically a brother. Tall, intense, and never one to sugarcoat, he didn’t bother with greetings.

“You haven’t done the final test, have you?” he snapped.

Anthony looked up slowly, eyes bloodshot. “I already did one.”

Chase slammed the door shut behind him.

“One? That wasn’t your test, Ant. That was someone else pulling strings. You didn’t handle it. You let Shayla twist it, again.

“You don’t get it,” Anthony muttered, rubbing his temples. “She’s scared. She’s confused—”

“No, bro,” Chase cut in sharply. “She’s lying. She has been since day one. You’re hanging on to a fantasy, and it’s killing you.”

Confrontation & Clarity

Chase crossed the room, his boots echoing on the hardwood floor. He picked up the folded paper on the table, glanced at it, then tossed it back down with disgust.

“You want to live like this? Questioning your own life every day? Wondering if your son is really yours? Wondering if the woman you gave everything to ever loved you in the first place?”

“I loved him,” Anthony said, almost a whisper. “I raised him. I was there since day one.”

Chase’s tone softened, but his gaze remained firm.

“Then be his guardian. Be his protector. But stop pretending that Shayla didn’t rob you of truth. That’s not love, bro. That’s manipulation.”

“She said she made a mistake—”

“One night is a mistake. Four years of hiding the truth is a plan.”

The Final Push

Chase stepped closer, lowering his voice.

“You need to get your DNA test. Your sample. Your lawyer. A court-verified lab. No shortcuts, no noise. And when it comes back… and it will confirm what we all know…”

He paused.

“You cut her out. For good.”

Anthony clenched his jaw. The silence between them stretched long and heavy, as if the air itself were waiting.

“I don’t know if I can,” Anthony finally said. “What if I lose Kai?”

“You already lost the life you thought you had,” Chase said gently. “Now it’s about rebuilding. Reclaiming your truth. And maybe, one day, having something real again. But not while she’s still pulling the strings.”

The Decision

Anthony walked over to the window. Rain still tapped gently on the glass. His reflection stared back at him — tired, weathered, unsure.

He picked up his phone.

“You know a lab you trust?” he asked quietly.

Chase’s eyes lit up with cautious hope. “Yeah. I do.”

Anthony nodded once. “Set it up. I want it done by Friday.”
