SUNNY’S HOUSE – DAY
Rain pours endlessly, a soft drizzle like the sky itself is mourning. The house is quiet, except for a faint ticking clock and muffled sobs from SUNNY’S room.
INT. SUNNY’S ROOM – DAY
SUNNY sits on the floor, hair messy, eyes swollen. She clutches SHONNIE’S picture to her chest. Breaths uneven, fragile, desperate.
GREG
standing by the door, helpless
“She hasn’t eaten in two days.”
He whispers to MIKE, who leans against the wall, pale with guilt.
MIKE
“How do you feed someone who’s lost their reason to live?”
SUNNY’S voice breaks the silence.
SUNNY
“She was my sister, Greg… my only one. She promised me she’d be home by midnight.”
She looks up, tears streaking her cheeks.
SUNNY
“Why did you let her drive?”
GREG’s face tightens. Words fail him.
Suddenly, a car pulls into the driveway. Headlights flash through the window. GREG turns. MIKE frowns. SUNNY barely looks up.
The door opens. High heels click against the floor. A familiar voice cuts through the air, calm yet burning inside.
J DIVA (JOSLYN)
“I told you I’d come back when things got real.”
SUNNY freezes. GREG’S eyes widen. DIVA is back.
DIVA stands in all black — leather jacket, hair tied back, eyes sharp like fire under control. She softens briefly at the sight of SUNNY.
J DIVA
“You don’t have to speak. I already know everything.”
GREG
“Joslyn, this isn’t your fight.”
J DIVA
tilting her head, almost amused
“My sister’s dead. My other sister’s breaking apart. And you’re telling me it’s not my fight?”
steps forward slowly
“Greg, I was born for this fight.”
The air thickens. MIKE shifts uncomfortably.
MIKE
“Diva, don’t make things worse. We’re barely holding Sunny together.”
J DIVA
icy tone
“Holding her together won’t bring Shonnie back. But maybe… making someone pay will.”
SUNNY looks up weakly.
SUNNY
“No, Joslyn. Please… I don’t want revenge. I just want peace.”
DIVA crouches beside her, brushing tears from SUNNY’s cheek.
J DIVA
“You pray for peace, sis. I’ll go find it — my way.”
EXT. OLD LOT – NIGHT
Rain heavier now. DIVA sits alone in her car, parked outside the lot where T HUSSLE’s crew used to meet. She lights a cigarette, smoke curling into the night.
Her phone buzzes. It’s ELAINA.
ELAINA (TEXT)
“Joslyn, I heard you’re back. Don’t do anything stupid.”
J DIVA (TEXT)
“Funny. People usually call me stupid right before I prove them wrong.”
ELAINA (TEXT)
“You think this is gonna fix you? Fix Sunny?”
J DIVA (TEXT)
“No. But it’ll make me sleep again.”
DIVA hangs up. Moments later, a car pulls in — loud bass, headlights cutting through the fog. T HUSSLE steps out, gold chain glinting in the dark. He sees DIVA and smirks.
T HUSSLE
“Damn, Diva. You still dramatic as ever.”
J DIVA
“You still reckless as ever.”
T HUSSLE
“You came all this way to blame me for your sister’s crash?”
J DIVA
“I came to remind you what happens when chaos gets personal.”
T HUSSLE
“You don’t scare me.”
J DIVA
whispering as she steps closer
“Good. Fear makes people sloppy. Guilt, though… guilt eats them alive.”
The air crackles with tension. Unspoken history burns between them. DIVA turns, walking back toward her car.
T HUSSLE
“You think you know what happened, Diva… but you don’t.”
J DIVA
pauses mid-step
“Then maybe you should tell me… before I find out my way.”
She drives off — taillights glowing red against the rain.
INT. SUNNY’S ROOM – NIGHT
SUNNY whispers softly, hands resting on her belly.
SUNNY
“Stay with me, babies. Please stay strong.”
GREG stands outside her door, listening, worried. He notices a note on the kitchen counter from DIVA.
NOTE (DIVA)
“Don’t wait up. By the time I’m done, the truth will hurt more than the lie ever did.”
GREG reads it twice, heart pounding. He looks out the window — rain still falling — and whispers:
GREG
“Dear God… what’s she about to do?”
