The air in Shayla’s room felt heavy that night. Her phone buzzed with a text from Anthony:

“If you want to save yourself from Iman, call me. I know everything.”

Her hands trembled as she read it.
Shayla (to herself): “Anthony? Why now? What does he even mean?”

Before she could think further, Angelina entered — calm, confident, holding her favorite cup of tea.

Angelina: “You look pale. What happened?”
Shayla: “Nothing. Just tired.”
Angelina (smirking): “Tired, or guilty?”

Shayla didn’t reply. Her mind was a storm — Iman’s suspicious smile, Anthony’s message, her mother’s manipulation. Everything was colliding inside her.

Later that night, Angelina sat watching TV when her phone buzzed. A message from an unknown number appeared:

“Your little plan isn’t working anymore. Iman’s already one step ahead.”

Angelina frowned.
Angelina (murmuring): “So… he’s finally showing his cards.”

The next day, Shayla met Iman again. This time, his tone was different — calm but colder.

Iman: “You seemed distracted yesterday. Everything okay?”
Shayla (hesitant): “Yeah… just a lot on my mind.”
Iman (leaning forward): “Like your mother’s advice?”

Her eyes widened slightly.
Shayla: “What do you mean?”
Iman: “You think I don’t know what you two are doing? I’ve been watching since day one.”

Shayla froze. He opened his laptop, showing screenshots — texts between her and Angelina.

Iman: “You think I don’t see your mom’s messages? ‘Send pics fast’? Or the fake stories you told about love?”

Tears welled up in Shayla’s eyes.
Shayla: “Iman… I swear, I didn’t mean to—”
Iman (cutting her off): “Save it. You’re just like her. Greedy. Calculating.”

Shayla’s voice cracked.
Shayla: “No, I’m not! I just… got caught up in her way of thinking.”

He leaned back, watching her break down. Then, unexpectedly, his tone softened.
Iman: “You know what’s funny? I was testing you too. You failed — but only halfway.”

She looked up, confused.
Shayla: “What do you mean?”
Iman: “You didn’t send the pictures. That’s why I’m still giving you a chance.”

Shayla stared at him, speechless. Before she could respond, his phone rang. He smiled faintly.
Iman: “Excuse me.”

He stepped aside — and on his screen, the name “Anthony” appeared.

Back home, Angelina was pacing.
Angelina (to herself): “He’s playing some game… I can feel it.”

Just then, Shayla walked in, her face pale.
Angelina: “You saw him again? What did he say?”
Shayla: “He knows everything, Mom. Every single thing.”
Angelina (narrowing her eyes): “And what did you tell him?”
Shayla: “The truth.”
Angelina (snapping): “The truth?! You’re digging your own grave, Shayla!”

Suddenly, Shayla’s phone buzzed again — another message from Anthony:

“I told you he’s not who you think. Meet me before it’s too late.”

Angelina grabbed the phone.
Angelina: “Anthony? Why is he messaging you?”
Shayla (panicking): “I don’t know! Maybe he knows something about Iman.”
Angelina (coldly): “Or maybe he’s working for Iman.”

Both stared at each other — silence thick between them. Then, Angelina smiled, that dangerous glint back in her eyes.
Angelina: “If there’s a game being played… we’ll play it better.”

Shayla shook her head.
Shayla: “Mom, stop! This isn’t a game anymore.”
Angelina (calmly): “Everything in life is a game, sweetheart. You just need to know when to make your move.”

Meanwhile, at his office, Iman ended his call with Anthony. A slow smirk appeared on his lips.
Iman (to himself): “Perfect. Now let’s see how far they’ll go.”

Back at home, Shayla’s phone lit up again — a video file this time. She hesitated, then pressed play.

On screen, Iman was seen talking to someone — his tone cold, controlled.

Iman: “Once Shayla and her mother take the bait, we’ll finish this.”

Shayla gasped. Her hands shook as she whispered:
Shayla: “So Anthony was right…”

The screen faded to black — leaving only the reflection of fear in her eyes.
