Sharra mocks Larry, saying, “You might be under Bethany’s control, but Brooke and I are not. Now watch what happens next.”

🚗💨 The Drive to Chicago

The sky was still gray when Sharra threw her last bag into the trunk. Her hands trembled — not from fear, but from the anger that still burned inside her.

Brooke stood quietly near the porch, backpack on her shoulder, eyes full of confusion.
Brooke (softly): “Mom… are we really leaving?”

Sharra (firmly): “Yes. You don’t need to stay where people don’t see your side of the story.”

Just then, Larry came out of the house, phone clutched in his hand. His voice was tight, almost pleading.
Larry: “Sharra, don’t do this right now. Bethany’s already calling me nonstop—”

Sharra (coldly): “Then tell Bethany to stop calling you about my daughter.

Larry sighed, rubbing the back of his neck.
Larry: “You know it’s not that simple. The school—”

Sharra (cutting him off): “The school suspended Brooke for defending herself! And you said nothing, Larry. Nothing.”

The air thickened. Brooke’s eyes shimmered as she looked between them.
Brooke (whispering): “Can we please just go?”

Sharra inhaled deeply, then nodded. She opened the car door. But before Brooke climbed in, Larry’s phone buzzed again — Bethany.

Sharra’s jaw tightened.
Sharra: “Go ahead. Answer it. Tell her she lost.”

Larry didn’t move. He slid the phone into his pocket and stepped closer.
Larry: “Sharra… please, don’t make this worse. Let’s talk before you leave.”

Sharra (crossing her arms): “You had plenty of chances to talk when Brooke needed you. I’m done talking.

The engine roared to life. The sound echoed through the driveway like thunder.
Larry stood frozen as the car rolled away — red taillights glowing through the misty morning.

Meanwhile… Across Town 🌧️

Bethany was pacing her living room like a storm. Her hair was pulled back messily, her voice sharp with rage.
Bethany (shouting): “She did what? She’s taking Brooke? Out of the city?”

On the phone, the school counselor tried to reason.
Counselor: “Miss Bethany, technically she’s Brooke’s mother, she can—”

Bethany (slamming the table): “She can’t just kidnap her!”

Her son peeked from the hallway.
Eli: “Mom, what’s going on?”

Bethany (snapping): “Get your shoes. We’re going to Larry’s.”

On the Road 🛣️

Brooke stared out the window, rain streaking down the glass.
Brooke (quietly): “Mom… Bethany’s going to freak out.”

Sharra (smirking): “Let her. Maybe she’ll finally realize she doesn’t run this family.”

Brooke hesitated.
Brooke: “I just didn’t mean for all this to happen. I just wanted her to stop calling me names.”

Sharra’s voice softened.
Sharra: “I know, baby. But some people like her… they only understand lessons the hard way.”

She reached over and squeezed Brooke’s hand.

Suddenly, a car horn blared behind them. Sharra looked in the mirror — a black SUV closing in fast.

Brooke (panicking): “Mom… that’s Bethany’s car.”

Sharra (gritting her teeth): “Of course it is.”

Back at Larry’s House

Bethany was furious, shouting in the driveway.
Bethany: “Larry! You just stood there and let her take Brooke?”

Larry’s tone was calm but heavy.
Larry: “She needed space, Bethany. You keep making things worse—”

Bethany (stepping closer): “Don’t you dare blame this on me! You think she’s the hero here? She’s unstable! She’s dragging that girl across the country—”

Larry finally snapped.
Larry (firmly): “Enough, Bethany. You don’t control everything.”

Bethany froze — for the first time, Larry didn’t back down.

Then her phone buzzed again.
A notification. Find My Phone: Sharra’s location — northbound highway.

Her lips curled into a dangerous smile.
Bethany (coldly): “Then I guess we’re going after them.”

She stormed toward her car, fury blazing in her eyes. Larry called out —
Larry: “Bethany, stop!”

But she didn’t.
