1. The Unlikely Invitation

It was Christmas Eve, and Sharra was excited for the holiday dinner. But she had a special request. She picked up her phone and dialed Larry’s number. Her fingers hesitated as she prepared to ask him something important.

Sharra:
“Hey, Larry... I was wondering if you could invite Antwan for Christmas dinner?”

Larry was taken aback. He didn’t like Antwan—not because of anything personal, but because Antwan always seemed to be eyeing Sharra. He wasn’t about to let anyone get too close to her.

Larry:
“Antwan? Why? You know how he is...”

Sharra:
“I think it’ll be nice, plus Dutchess and him are close. It’ll be fun!”

After some back and forth, Larry reluctantly agreed. He didn't want to upset Sharra, so he said:

Larry:
“Fine, but you owe me one.”

2. The Call That Changes Everything

Later that night, Bethany overheard the conversation between Larry and Sharra. Bethany had always been suspicious of Sharra’s intentions. When she heard that Antwan was invited to dinner, she couldn’t let it slide.

Once Larry left the room, Bethany quickly dialed Antwan’s number, a sly grin on her face. She knew how to stir the pot.

Bethany:
“Antwan, hey, it’s Bethany. So, I heard you’re coming to Christmas dinner… but I’m just letting you know, Larry’s not thrilled about it. I think you should talk to him, maybe tell him that you appreciate Sharra’s invitation.”

Antwan:
“Really? I didn’t know that.”

Bethany:
“Oh, trust me, honey. I know Larry. I think Sharra’s trying to get closer to you, don’t you think?”

Bethany played on his insecurities, making Antwan feel like he had a chance with Sharra.

3. The Spark of Jealousy

Christmas Day arrived, and the tension at Larry’s house was palpable. Every time Antwan walked into the room, Larry couldn’t shake the feeling that the guy was eyeing Sharra more than he should.

Sharra, unaware of the brewing storm between the men, kept things light. But Antwan was all over her, laughing a little too loudly at her jokes and complimenting her appearance.

Bethany:
(Whispering to Larry)
“Larry, don’t you think Antwan’s a little too comfortable around Sharra?”

Larry couldn’t hide his discomfort, but he didn’t want to make a scene.

4. The Unspoken Tension

After dinner, the atmosphere only worsened. Antwan, feeling encouraged by Bethany’s conversation, leaned in too close to Sharra.

Antwan:
“Hey, Sharra, want to go for a walk?”

Sharra, not thinking anything of it, smiled and agreed.

But when Larry saw this, his frustration boiled over. He stood up abruptly.

Larry:
“Sharra, can I talk to you for a second?”

Sharra, surprised, turned to face him.

Sharra:
“What’s wrong?”

Larry:
(Frustrated)
“I don’t want you hanging out with him like that. He’s always trying to get close to you. I don’t like it.”

Sharra, hurt, stepped back.

Sharra:
“Larry, it’s not like that.”

Larry:
“Really? You’ve been asking me to invite him, and now you’re walking with him like nothing’s wrong. This isn’t just ‘friendship,’ Sharra.”

5. The Battle for Sharra’s Heart

The night dragged on. Larry and Sharra were having a heated conversation in private. Their argument was intense, and the tension between them was palpable.

Outside, Antwan waited for Sharra. He wasn’t sure if he should get involved in the drama or stay away. But something about Sharra made him feel like he had a chance to get closer to her.

Inside, Sharra and Larry were on opposite sides of the couch. Sharra’s eyes were red from crying, and Larry’s frustration was evident.

Larry:
(Softening his tone)
“Sharra, I care about you. I can’t just sit here and watch him get closer to you. I need to know where we stand.”

Sharra, for the first time, realized just how much Larry cared for her. Her feelings for him were stronger than she had thought.

But just then, Antwan, who had been watching from the window, overheard their conversation. His eyes narrowed, and a determined look crossed his face.

Antwan:
(Whispering to himself)
“This isn’t over… I’m not backing down.”
