When Old Feelings Don’t Stay Buried
Scene 1 – Living Room (Late Evening)
Bethany: So let me get this straight… I can’t go to Montana, but Lynette can just walk back into your life whenever she wants?
Larry: That’s not what this is about.
Bethany: Then what is it about? Because every time her name comes up, you change.
Larry: Different how?
Bethany: Like a man who never finished a chapter.
Scene 2 – Kitchen
Larry: I said no because every time you leave, something explodes. I’m trying to protect this marriage.
Bethany: Protect it… or control it?
Larry: You don’t trust me.
Bethany: I don’t trust her. And I don’t trust the history you share.
Scene 3 – The Phone Call
Bethany: Go ahead. Answer it. Let me see how “over it” you really are.
Larry: Hello?
Lynette (voice): We need to talk. In person.
Scene 4 – Bedroom (Later That Night)
Bethany: If you meet her without telling me… don’t expect me to beg.
Larry: You don’t own me, Bethany.
Bethany: And you don’t get to play family with your past while I look stupid.
Final Scene – Morning / Cliffhanger
Bethany: Where are you going?
Larry: To clear things up… once and for all.
Bethany (whisper): Or to light the fire you pretend is dead.
