INT. MALL – WEEKEND
The mall buzzed with the usual weekend crowd, bright lights reflecting off polished floors. Sharra and Joel walked side by side, their hands occasionally brushing. For once, neither wanted to think about the world outside this little bubble.
SHARRA
Joel, you always pick the best stores. I could spend the whole day like this with you.
JOEL
And I’d gladly spend it all with you. No complaints.
They turn a corner, heading toward the café.
SHARRA
You know, this is perfect. Just us. No drama, no interruptions.
INT. MALL – BROOKE SPOTS THEM
From across the corridor, Brooke’s eyes locked onto the pair. Destiny, trailing slightly behind, tugged at her sleeve.
DESTINY
Brooke… maybe we should just go another way?
BROOKE
No. I need to see this. I need to tell him how I feel… and how I feel about her.
INT. MALL – CONFRONTATION BEGINS
They approach as Sharra and Joel stop at a display, laughing. Brooke steps forward, voice rising, attracting attention.
BROOKE
So, this is it, huh? You think you can just waltz around like nothing happened?
JOEL
Brooke… please. Let’s not do this here.
SHARRA
Brooke! That’s enough! Control yourself!
BROOKE
Control myself? After everything you’ve done? You think you can just act all sweet while I deal with your games?
INT. MALL – ESCALATION
Joel remains calm, exhaling slowly. Brooke is relentless. Sharra steps forward, voice sharp and commanding.
SHARRA
Brooke, I will not tolerate this behavior! You will show some respect right now, or I swear—
BROOKE
Respect? Respect is earned, and you haven’t earned mine! Not now, not ever!
Sharra’s hands clench into fists. Joel tries to intervene, his voice calm but firm.
JOEL
Brooke, please… this isn’t the place. Let’s step outside and—
BROOKE
Step outside? Why should I step outside? Maybe it’s time everyone sees the truth!
INT. MALL – AFTERMATH
Brooke steps back, chest heaving, but her glare never wavers. Sharra takes a long, controlled breath, Joel’s hand subtly reassuring her. The mall resumes its normal pace, oblivious to the tension. The storm has only just begun.
BROOKE
This isn’t over… not even close.
SHARRA
I will handle this, Joel… but she’s not done yet. I can feel it.
JOEL
Are you okay?
