A Morning of Stress and Support

The Morning Begins

Early in the morning, Bethany called Sharra, her tone already sharp and impatient.

“Sharra… seriously, can’t you even pay your own rent?” Bethany snapped.

Sharra’s patience, already thin from the previous night’s stress, snapped immediately.

Frustration Unleashed

Sharra’s grip tightened around the phone. “You know what, Bethany? I’ve had enough of this!”

She slammed the phone down, cutting her off mid-lecture. The click of the hang-up echoed her frustration. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself.

But the frustration lingered, and Sharra knew she needed to talk to someone else.

Seeking Comfort

Sharra picked up the phone again, dialing Larry’s number. Her hands trembled, not from fear but from anger and disappointment.

“Larry… it’s Sharra,” she began, her voice firm yet controlled. “I just got a call from Bethany. I warned you before… I told you not to tell anyone about the rent issue.”

She was upset, and Larry was the only one who could calm her down.

Finding Support

Larry’s voice was calm but concerned. “Sharra… I didn’t realize she’d react this way. I thought she just needed to know, that’s all.”

Sharra exhaled sharply, irritation bubbling back up. “She’s asking about the $650. She’s being condescending, like she’s judging me. I feel humiliated.”

Larry frowned, upset on her behalf. “You didn’t deserve that. You asked for help, and I supported you. But this? This isn’t right.”

Feeling Heard

Larry’s tone softened. “Sharra, you don’t have to take that. I’ve got your back. You’re doing what’s right for you and the kids. Don’t let her words make you doubt that.”

Sharra let out a shaky laugh, half in relief and half in disbelief. “I just wanted to manage this quietly, without drama. But apparently, that’s too much to ask.”

Larry chuckled softly, trying to ease the tension. “Bethany always makes things dramatic. But you’ve done nothing wrong, Sharra. Don’t forget that.”

Regaining Control

Sharra smiled faintly, feeling a weight lifted off her shoulders. “Okay, you’re right. I just needed to vent. Thanks for supporting me, even when things get messy with her.”

Larry reassured her firmly. “Focus on your home, your peace. The $650 is yours to manage. No one, not even Bethany, can take that away.”

Sharra finally felt some peace amidst the chaos. “Alright, I’m ready to take on the day. But seriously, if she calls again, I’m handing the phone to you.”

Sharra’s Strength

Sharra smiled, ready to face whatever came her way. With Larry by her side, she was prepared to stand strong—and not let anyone make her feel small.
