Anthony cleared his throat. “So… we really doing this?”

Anthony sighed. “Here we go.”

Anthony rubbed his face. “I was gonna add you. I just needed time.”
“Time… or permission?” Amber shot back.
That question hit harder than a slap.

Amber shook her head. “Every time it’s ‘later’. Later with the accounts. Later with honesty. Later with commitment.”
Anthony muttered, “You acting like I’m hiding something.”

“I’m laying down.”
Amber stepped in front of him.

They stared at each other.
The bed had never felt so small… or so powerful.
Anthony laughed nervously. “You really gonna do this?”
Amber whispered, “I’m finally doing me.”

Anthony grabbed a pillow.
