BETHANY’S APARTMENT – AFTERNOON
Sunlight fills the room. Birds chirp outside. Bethany cleans quietly — unaware fate is about to strike.
She trips. A sharp crack. Her head slams against the wall.
BETHANY: Ahhh!
THE FALL
Pain explodes through her arm. Stars blur her vision.
NEIGHBOR: Bethany! Are you okay?!
BETHANY: I… I don’t know…
Sirens approach.
HOSPITAL
DOCTOR: Your arm is fractured. You also have a concussion.
DOCTOR: We need to keep you under observation.
Bethany stares at the ceiling — scared, foggy, vulnerable.
LARRY’S CALL
Across the country, Larry reads the message.
TEXT: She’s in the hospital. You need to come.
LARRY: No… no…
A flight booked. No hesitation.
REUNION
Bethany lies pale in bed. Machines hum softly.
BETHANY: Larry…?
LARRY: I’m here. I’ve got you.
He holds her hand. She cries.
NOT ALONE
BETHANY: Do you think I’ll be okay?
LARRY: You will. I’m not going anywhere.
Days pass. Strength slowly returns.
BETHANY: Thank you… for coming.
LARRY: Always. I’ll always come for you.
She fell…
but she didn’t fall alone.
TO BE CONTINUED.
