Bethany Discovers the Truth
Bethany’s heart sank the moment she overheard the news: she wasn’t invited to the family meeting. At first, she thought it must be a mistake, something easily fixed. But as the realization hit her, anger bubbled inside.
BETHANY: “Larry! Brooke may be your stepdaughter, but so am I! I should be in that meeting!”
Confronting Larry
Larry, standing near the front door with papers in hand, looked up at her, his expression unreadable.
LARRY: “Bethany, calm down. You’re not invited. That’s final.”
BETHANY: “What do you mean I’m not invited? Larry, I have every right to be there! I am part of this family too!”
The Argument Escalates
Her voice cracked, eyes shimmering with unshed tears. Larry sighed, running a hand through his hair.
LARRY: “Bethany, I’m telling you—this isn’t up for discussion. Now, I need you to leave the room.”
BETHANY: “No, Larry! You can’t just shut me out like this! Brooke is your stepdaughter, yes, but so am I! I deserve to be heard!”
Storming Out
Larry’s face turned red, trying to maintain control. Bethany’s chest heaved as she realized he wouldn’t budge.
LARRY: “Bethany, that’s enough. I said leave. Now!”
BETHANY: “Larry… please! I’m your stepdaughter too! I have a voice here!”
LARRY: “Bethany, I’m done talking. Chalo jao ab tum yahan se.”
Heartbreak and Fury
The words hit her like a hammer. Her lips trembled, but no sound came out. She stormed toward the hallway, fists clenched, each step a silent protest.
Reflection in Solitude
She reached her room, slammed the door, and leaned against it, letting the emotions she had been holding back finally wash over her. Questions, anger, and hurt filled her mind.
What will Bethany do next? Will she confront Larry again—or will something unexpected happen in the family meeting?
