Destiny’s Secret Call
Late afternoon. The house is quiet. Soft sunlight filters through the living room windows. A suitcase sits half-packed on the couch while Destiny walks nervously with her phone.
DESTINY: Come on, Sharra… pick up.
SHARRA (ON PHONE): Hey Destiny. What’s going on?
DESTINY: I just wanted to tell you something before everyone else finds out.
Destiny looks around carefully to make sure nobody is nearby.
DESTINY: The trip… it’s changed.
SHARRA: Changed? What do you mean?
DESTINY: We’re not going to Miami anymore.
DESTINY: We’re going to Puerto Rico instead.
A Hidden Listener
In the hallway, Bethany suddenly freezes when she hears the words “Puerto Rico.”
Her eyes widen slightly as she quietly steps closer to the corner of the hallway, making sure she remains hidden.
SHARRA: Wait… Puerto Rico? Since when?
DESTINY: Larry changed the plans this morning. He said it would be better and more private.
SHARRA: Does Bethany know?
DESTINY: No. And honestly… I don’t want her to know yet.
Bethany’s expression instantly hardens as she continues listening.
The Secret Plan
SHARRA: Why not?
DESTINY: Because every time she finds out something, she starts asking questions.
DESTINY: Right now I just want this trip to go smoothly.
SHARRA: So what’s the plan?
DESTINY: We’re still telling everyone it’s Miami for now.
SHARRA: You’re serious?
DESTINY: Yes. We’ll tell them the truth later.
Bethany silently shakes her head, realizing the truth behind the plan.
Suspicion Grows
SHARRA: You think Bethany would cause drama?
DESTINY: You know how she is… always suspicious.
DESTINY: Sometimes it feels like she’s watching everything I do.
Bethany’s jaw tightens slightly as she hears those words.
DESTINY: Anyway, Puerto Rico is going to be amazing. The beaches, the hotels… everything.
SHARRA: That sounds way better than Miami.
DESTINY: Exactly. But please don’t tell anyone yet.
Bethany Discovers the Truth
The call finally ends and Destiny walks toward the kitchen, completely unaware that someone heard everything.
Bethany slowly steps into the empty living room and looks at the suitcase sitting on the couch.
BETHANY: Puerto Rico, huh…
She gently runs her fingers across the suitcase zipper.
BETHANY: So that’s the real plan.
Bethany pulls out her phone and scrolls through her contacts.
One name appears on the screen.
BETHANY: Maybe it’s time someone else hears about this.
The Calm Before the Storm
Just as Bethany prepares to call someone, the front door suddenly opens.
Destiny walks back into the room and notices Bethany standing there.
DESTINY: Oh… Bethany. I didn’t see you there.
BETHANY: Just thinking about the trip.
DESTINY: Miami’s going to be fun.
Bethany stares at her quietly for a moment before responding.
BETHANY: Yeah… I’m sure it will be.
